Proven to Deliver - The RioCom 7.5t Jetvac Tanker
Trusted by drainage and utility contractors across the UK, the RioCom combines the power of a large tanker with the versatility of a compact design. Engineered for efficiency and reliability, this 7.5-ton jetvac tanker is perfect for a wide range of tasks, from unblocking drains to routine maintenance. In this blog, we've gathered customer reviews that highlight how the RioCom consistently delivers outstanding performance.
The Multipurpose Tanker
The RioCom delivers superior performance for a variety of suction and jetting tasks, making it indispensable for contractors handling sewer, drain, and cable cleaning, unblocking, and desilting. These versatile, lightweight jetvac combi units are increasingly common in remote locations, city centres, and areas with restricted access where larger vacuum tankers cannot reach.
“Our work is quite diverse with both reactive jobs and regular maintenance contracts. We’ve been impressed by the performance of the RioCom. It offers flexibility for us to work in less accessible areas, and where it’s not viable for us to use a big tanker.”
Keith Borrett, Managing Director of Aquaflow Services Ltd
“The storage space on the unit means we can carry all the drain cleaning equipment the engineers need for carrying out work indoors. For instance, if we have a team working during the morning pumping a drain in West London, they can also carry out smaller, internal jobs nearby. On the strength of that, we haven’t had to buy an additional van-pack jetter.”
Tommy Ward, MD of TW Drainage
“We needed a solution to decant, remove and transport fluid. The 7.5t RioCom helps us to achieve a safe, fast and cost-effective solution to moving waste around. The unit has worked every day since delivery. It’s been pushed to its limits and performed better than we ever imagined!”
Danny Fuller, Operations Director of London Drainage Facilities
“Rather than having to hire in tankers, we can use the powerful suction pump of the RioCom to clear out heavily silted manholes before the jetting. The combination unit can do both jobs, making it more economical for the client. On one occasion we cleared silt from a 350m cable line in a single run.”
Paul Snow, Director of MDL Plant
The Single-Resolution Solution
Congestion and traffic restrictions in the UK pose significant challenges for drainage contractors. To overcome these issues, contractors are adopting a "single-resolution" approach, using multi-purpose vehicles to diagnose and resolve drainage problems in a single visit.
“Whereas before we needed to rely on the availability of a 25t tanker to perform suction work, the new units will be able to carry out both jetting and suction work with a single visit. It’s a really good bit of kit and will enable the team to do more and provide better customer service.”
Tammy Jones, Scottish Water
“These combis were specifically designed for Scottish Water and it’s always been about developing a single-resolution vehicle. They are ideal for use in this region because of the size, specification and ease of maintenance.”
David Gordon, Director of Scotjet
“The jetvacs are sleek, compact and low weight. Operating single-resolution units helps minimise downtime and speed operations. Price was also a big factor when considering the options, and the fantastic turnaround time was a testament to Rioned’s level of service.”
Mark Jewell, Head of Fleet at Sapphire Utility Solutions
Emission Complaint for Inner Cities
The expansion of city-wide Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and inner-city Ultra Low Emission Zones (ULEZ) requires contractors to use emission-compliant equipment. The 7.5t RioCom, powered by a Euro 6 turbocharged direct-injection engine, employs PTO (power take-off) to run powerful jetting and suction pumps simultaneously. This unit complies with Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) Stage V emission standards and is ULEZ compliant.
“85% of our work is inside the M25. The new tanker is superb for working in London. Being a 7.5-tonne unit means working anywhere in the city, including the ULEZ zone, without restriction. The size of the unit also means we’re able to easily park outside homes and businesses without having to double park as we would with a larger tanker.”
Andy Simpkins, Director of Edincare Drains
“As a company, we’re very much focused on the environment and our vehicles are the public face of that - by reducing the number and size of vehicles having to attend incidents in this area, these new units will also help us reduce our carbon impact.”

Economical Jetting and Suction
The versatile RioCom enhances operational efficiency with its dual-functionality, improving response and resolution times. Equipped with powerful jetting and suction pumps, secure storage, and an inverter for ancillary equipment, the unit offers an efficient and economical single-visit solution for a wide range of drainage and utility tasks.
“The small tanker is averaging 21 miles-to-the-gallon, compared with an average of 8mpg for larger tankers. We’re really pleased, it’s a fantastic bit of kit.”
Edincare Drains
“It will mostly be assigned to supporting major service cleans of 225mm pipework and upwards throughout London and the South East. It’s a great lorry to service long lengths of Aco drainage and estate gullies.”
