Much like engine control units (ECUs) in vehicles, Rioned’s drain cleaning machines incorporate system monitoring technology for enhanced machine control. We’re proud to claim to be the first company in the drainage equipment sector to develop an integrated control panel, winning a prestigious Red Dot innovation award for the eControl+ in 2015. The recently launched eControl Touch is our next generation of machine control systems and introduces a range of new smart features that offer unrivalled sewer machine control and diagnostics.

Intelligent remote control systems

The use of remote control systems allows contractors to fully realise efficiencies from single-person operations and at the same time increases the safety of engineers. Rioned’s RioMote systems use FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) to search for the strongest frequencies, creating a bigger transmitting range for use in areas of high transmission traffic for improved use and safety. The latest edition to the RioMote range includes an LED screen that displays essential real-time system information, such as RPMs, pressure, fuel levels and system warnings, relayed directly from the eControl Touch. The ability to fine-tune the pressure and flow at a distance from the vehicle offers savings on time, running costs and water usage.
